Male Patient 14 Year

Clinical Data

Patient was referred to our hospital 4 days ago with convulsions , disturbed mental state and high fever.

He was treated as a case of meningo-encephalitis.

Patient was intubated on mechanical ventilator for 2 days and extubated .

Yesterday, patient complains from diarrhea and abdominal colic. By Examination: Abdomen is soft, lax with mild umbilical tenderness.

Stool analysis is requested in addition to routine ICU investigations.

MCH: 26.2 PG

MCHC: 34%

Na: 145 mmol/L (136 - 144)

K : 3.4 mmol/L (3.6 - 5.1)

Clostridium Antigen in stool is requested.

Enterobius Vermicularis Ova are seen in stool smear

Clostridium Antigen in stool is negative (By PCR).
