Patient referred from a central hospital with pancytopnea.

Comment / Findings

Bone marrow aspirate smear is normocellular and infiltrated by 32% blast cells.

Blast cells : small to medium-sized with scant cytoplasm and inconspicuous nucleoli.

Immunophenotyping was done and result is above (Picture). The gated blasts are 30.4% using CD45/SSC gating strategy.

Final Diagnosis

30.4% gated blasts express an immunophenotype suggestive of Early Precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ETP-ALL)
