36-years old female patient

Clinical Data

Patient presented with acute abdominal pain admitted to the emergency department. No vomitting or diarrhea. No past history of allergy. Radiological studies revealed the presence of ascites. Ascitic fluid aspiration was done and sent to the lab for study.

Color : Whitish

Aspect : Turbid

Ascitic fluid total protein : 5 g/dl

SAAG : 0.5

Ascitic fluid glucose : 98 mg/dl

Ascitic fluid LDH : 238 IU/L

Ascitic fluid WBCs count : 10.5 x 10^3/mm3

Differential count showed the presence of 95% eosinophils
